On Emily Dickinson -

Lecture #1: the reasons for her withdrawal from society, and the degree

to which she withdrew; her family life; the men she loved; her wonderful wit and joyous spirit; her deepest griefs.  Many of her poems are also presented, as are three scenes from Emily.

Lecture #2: the focus here is on her poems as several poems are performed

performed on each of six themes; information about Emily's life is woven among the poems, as are three scenes from Emily.

On Sarah Bernhardt - the human being behind the public personna of

this most famous person on earth in the late 19th and early 20th centuries; her challenges, her triumphs, her failures; the theatrical career which spanned 61 years; and the adjustments to living and performing after her right leg was amputated when she was 70 years old.  A few scenes from Sarah are woven into the lecture.

"So I Write Poets - All" - poems by Millay, Shakespeare, John Donne,

Robert Frost, Noel Coward, Wordsworth, Tennyson, Dickinson and others . . . many poetic voices and perspectives on life and love.

"Poetic Voices of North Carolina" - During the 20th century, North

Carolina poets recorded in verse many of the crucial perceptions, dreams, experiences and concerns which swirled about them.  From profound social issues to the quietest personal moments, from laughter to heartbreak, Clark shares a century of Carolina thoughts and feelings as she performs many of the poems with the rich emotions expressed by these gifted North Carolina poets.
